Property Tax or Paying Rent to the Government?

Property Tax is not a money issue. It is an issue of liberty and freedom. I say in the the United states that the thought of Land or Home ownership is an illusion.

How can one truly ever own land or a home if the government can take that property as payment of taxes? Taxing ones property is taxing their very existence.

This is just another example of government sticking their hands in our pockets. I have no problem paying taxes for support of the roads and such service that I use but why must the very spot I rest my head at night be put up as collateral.

Does this not imply that the government owns our land and simply rents it to us?

In a free society, the right to ownership of land would be undisputed. Those wishing to tax home ownership would be dismissed as corrupt, and freedom hating.

The very thought that the government can come to you and take your land for any reason it sees fit, as in eminent domain, proves that we are not in control. How have the people become the subjects?
